Mead Carney is proud to present 'Beauty Will Come, Beauty Will Go...' an exhibition of new works by world renowned Berlin street artist XOOOOX.

Beauty. A joy forever. Skin deep. In the eye of the beholder. Apparently, it can launch a thousand ships, and the attempted preservation of it can destroy one's soul (look at poor Dorian Gray). There is no shortage of our attempts to describe beauty. Or, indeed, its ephemeral nature. There is something undeniably compelling about our desire for finding and expressing beauty.

XOOOOX (pronounced KZOOKS) is regarded as one of the most exciting and innovative urban / street artists worldwide. Creating intricate stenciled works and installations on found objects such as wood, metal and stone in reference to Arte Povera, XOOOOX distinctly contrasts the glamour of fashion culture with existentialist themes such as vulnerability and transience. The life-size stencils of professionally styled photo models form the leitmotif of the figurative studies, scrutinizing the worship cult prevalent in contemporary society and seduction techniques of haute couture. Beguilingly beautiful, XOOOOX’s women convey a sense of melancholy and introversion and allude to the growing displeasure with the uniform, consumption-driven hype of the fashion industry.
